“Running in circles, coming up tails, heads on a science apart” –Coldplay

This line is from the song called “The Scientist” by Coldplay. The song’s brilliant. And this part intrigues me.

The song is about wanting to go back to the beginning when they were just getting to know each other. The part that goes

“running in circles
chasing tales
heads on a science apart”

is about being confused and talking about the issue in “circles” and not getting anywhere. I see a play on the phrase, “heads or tails.”

It might also be about They’re the same people after having been together.

Ooh-ing at the end sounds like a wolf howling in its loneliness. Heyo, back to being a lonewolf…I think the end connects well with the other parts that set it up–“chasing tails” and “running in circles.” Super wolf theme.

This should be Jacob Black’s theme song. But then that would mean it would be in Twilight. Which would suck. Possibly literally.
