“Blackbird singing in the dead of night…” Happy MLK Day

This song can be so innocently picked up by anyone. Mothers can sing or play this song to their babies. Children grow up hearing this piece without thinking much of it. It’s so familiar that it can be someone’s first song on the guitar. There’s a beauty to finding out that this song is about a struggle filled with so much tension.

I think I posted about this song last MLK day but I post it again because I always get something out of it each time. I reread the wikipedia post about it and was pleasantly surprised to find that McCartney wrote this instead of John Lennon.
